Smartboard and Virtual Manipulatives

I used this website yesterday with a smartboard.  It has all the basic math manipulatives and much more!  I projected the site to the smartboard and then "manipulated" the manipulatives.  It was very useful!  Take a look! Thanks to Laura for the site!

20 Ways to Model Tech Use Everyday

Here is an article on twenty everyday ways to model technology in your classrooms.  I especially like #3.
Some of you already have a "tech crew" that pushes labs, sets up laptops, etc.  If you don't, there's something easy you can do!

What to do with photos

This website gives you ideas of things to do with your photos.  This doesn't have to be an iphone, etc way to do it.  You can have your students do this with pictures in class, or photos you give to them.

Weebly

This is an online, easy to use website, that allows you (or students) to create their own website.  Like I said, it looks very easy and the kids would enjoy it.  The main site is listed below, but here's a site that explains it and also an example of a 5th grade classroom's site.

PBS KIDS Lab

From eschoolnews.com:  "PBS has expanded its KIDS Lab website, which helps children ages 2-8 develop their math skills, to include more resources for parents and educators. And this week's Newslines feature advice on preparing for online assessments and using Quick Response codes for school communications."

I saw many games that the students could play as well as apps that are available for any ipads/ipod touches that we may be getting.

Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore
You can now take a virtual tour of Mt. Rushmore in this new site!  I've linked to both the explanation of the site and also the site itself so that you can see this monument.  Some of the site shows the faces in 3D animation as well.
